Create an attachment during execution

Postby oileanach » Wed Sep 08, 2010 3:10 pm

Hi All,

First things first. I am new to testlink but so far have found it excellent for what I need to do.

What I would like, is to be able to create attachments during execution. Our test process requires us to make screen shots during tests at different steps. Is it possible to hack the php so i would be able to create attachments during the test execution?

Thanks in advance,

PHP is running on server, screen shot has to be done on your screen => you need client software not server software

I'm not 100% sure what you mean. I am able to take screen shot, thats not a problem. I want to be able to attach this screen shot to a test that I am executing. For instance, i am executing a test and find a bug in a window. I want to add the screen shot of this bug to the test that i have just executed. Something similar to the ability to add attachments when creating a test. I want to add an attachment when executing a test. Do you think that this is possible? And if so, how do i do this?

Thanks

it is possible.
After you have executed a test ('save execution'), you can attach a file (or screen shot) via the execution history overview. There is a button 'attachments' for attaching files for each executed test.
