[SOLVED - PERMISSION ISSUE] Upgrage 1.9.5 to 1.9.6 problem

Postby gianmaria » Fri Mar 15, 2013 2:16 pm

Hi,
before to open a bug I want to explain my problem.
I had the old TL 1.9.5.
I have upgraded it to 1.9.6 following the guide and run the db scripts.
I can login to the app. I see my projects and test design.
But when I click on Test execution and Test report the left part of the app (where are located the search filters and the tests tree) I see nothing.
Also under user management I see nothing on the UI.

Can you help me?

Thanks

We have tested upgrade from 1.9.5 to 1.9.6 on MySQL, Postgres and MSSQL using simple databases (not more than 4 test cases) before releasing without any issue.
Anyway we are going to double check, because not all features were tested (may be we thought erroneously that upgrade was simple then not lot of test
were needed).

Database upgrade (you can give a look to the scripts) do not do strange things (just add a column and two new tables that will be used on 1.9.7).
Please check that testprojects table has the new column (is the only thing I think can create an issue when using test project class methods).

Please do all clean ups:
1. browser cookies
2. template_c folder.

As suggested by GunnarD, is important always to check TestLink Event viewer. Also checking web server logs is important.

@all users/posters
a post that confirm you are having some problem is ok, but this means post has become an issue => you have to follow our guidelines and use mantis and not forum.
In addition as I suppose you would like to work on you regular work when something signal an issue, just saying 'it does not work', provides not much help.
Digg as much as possible on logs, and provide us the info (only info that seems to be related to the issue, messages due to missing localization do not count
as info to be provided).

Retested
1. clean install of 1.9.5 got from Sourceforge
2. create 1 test project
3. import test spec example provided in test link distribution
4. create test plan
5. create build
6. add test cases
7. execute
8. apply sql to db
9. install on DIFFERENT FOLDER 1.9.6 got from sourceforge
10. close all browser instances
11. login
12. access to the features signaled on first post as defective => ALL is OK
