(Solved) TestLink 1.9.16 install problems

Postby wahoobill » Tue May 30, 2017 6:07 pm

Hello,.

I am trying to start my 1.9.16 installation of TestLink on RHEL linux box.

I have the correct version of PHP and MySQL DB installed. I have created the testlink DB in the mysql instance.

Now I am stuck trying to launch testlink web interface? Do I have to make some change to apache httpd service to access the web url for testlink?

Help I am stuck!!

Thanks
Bill

Are you getting an error, or some other situation? (if you have any error(s), please post those here)

If TestLink was installed to the web docs location, then it is typically a matter of (assuming the same machine): http://localhost/TestLink (or similar, depending on how the install was done)

I am not getting an error other than the web page not able to render:

I am hitting this :http://10.1.235.152:9080/Testlink
and getting this:

JBWEB000065: HTTP Status 404 - /Testlink

JBWEB000309: type JBWEB000067: Status report

JBWEB000068: message /Testlink

JBWEB000069: description JBWEB000124: The requested resource is not available.

JBoss Web/7.5.7.Final-redhat-1

Thanks for your help!!

If that is the right location, double-check the directory name, and ensure the name "case" is correct and might instead be: TestLink, or testlink.

If you add nothing after the port, does the location "land" to some other site/page info?

Unfortunately, I'm NOT a JBoss guru, so my help may be limited. A quick googling around about the JBoss document root, it appears that some other xml file likely needs to be present in the same directory as well? I don't know, you might have to get your administrator involved. I used this google search, if it might "speak" to you.

I managed to figure it out-- I did not realize that the testlink install needed to be at /var/www/html/testlink....made that change and updated apache to map to the url-- and now it works!!

Thanks for your responses...

Good, glad you got it working :!:

I should have paid attention to your Apache reference in the first post. I would have mentioned to check the DocumentRoot location within the httpd.conf file.

I jumped to conclusion on your JBoss errors.

No worries, though, it's all good. :P
