Logging communication with Issue tracker

Postby mikek_dk » Mon Aug 03, 2015 3:07 pm

Hi,

Is there a way to add the communication between TestLink and the Issue tracker to the log files? - I have tried adding:

$g_log_level='DEBUG';

to the custom_config_.inc.php file, but it doesn't seem to add the communication to the log files.

----

The reason I would like to see the log, is because I'm trying to figure out why TestLink is failing to talk to our Jira (rest - on demand) - I just get the: "Attention Please: Something is preventing...." in the TestLink GUI, but that could have many reasons.

I didn't put this in the Jira section, since I assume it's not Jira specific to get a log of the communication.

do not think there is way to get specific log.
Have you already checked standard TestLink Logs?
have you tried to do some test with the ondemand test examples?
can you provide configuration details ?

ohh.. but thank you for the answer.

Apparently it works fine with the ondemand example found at: http://mantis.testlink.org/bug_revision ... ug_id=7050 I tried making minimum changes to that one - changing the server URL, username/password, projectkey, issuetype, but I still get the same error.

The last configuration for Jira (rest) I tried was:
----

<issuetracker>
<username>XXXX</username>
<password>XXXX</password>
<uribase>https://issuetracker4s.atlassian.net/</uribase>
<uriapi>https://issuetracker4s.atlassian.net/rest/api/latest/</uriapi>
<projectkey>JS</projectkey>
<issuetype>1</issuetype>
<userinteraction>1</userinteraction>

</issuetracker>

----

I have tried with and without the userinteraction field, and with different values for the issuetype, but no luck so far...

We have some DNS trouble, so I currently don't have access to the shell on our web-server, so I can't access testlink logs, but yesterday, they didn't seem to contain any information related to Jira. I'll provide the details when I can get access to them.

On Jira, Rest seems to be enabled:
----
Atlassian JIRA - Plugins - REST Plugin - 7.0.0-OD-01-182
Plugin byAtlassian

Enabled
----

As stated above it works fine with the testlink on-demand test example so there must be some misconfiguration somewhere, maybe in our Jira... I was hoping the logs could help me - is there any way to tweak more information out of testlink, at least to get what failed in the communication?

you have to add debug (var_dump, echo) on the code, there is no other way.
what you can try is using a REST CLIENT (postman) and try to understand if you can connect OK with JIRA, this will allow to understand if issue is INSIDE TestLink code

Thank you for the help - it seems to be an issue with permissions for the user inside Jira.
