SOLVED - JIRA 7.3.1 Rest : No Connection to JIRA - SSL ISSUE

Postby alarche » Tue Apr 18, 2017 3:10 pm

We have TestLink 1.9.16 and new JIRA v7.3.1 and no rest connection to this Jira is possible :(

If I click on Button "Check connection", I get message "Test Connection KO"

Here is our Jira Rest config:
<issuetracker>
<username>username</username>
<password>password</password>
<uribase>https://ourdomain:8443/</uribase>
<uriapi>https://ourdomain:8443/rest/api/latest/</uriapi>
<uriview>https://ourdomain:8443/browse/</uriview>
<userinteraction>0</userinteraction>
<projectkey>BP</projectkey>
<issuetype>1</issuetype>
<issuepriority>1</issuepriority>
</issuetracker>

By using of an test Jira Rest config, see the config below, the connection is possible and I get the message "Test Connection OK"!

Here is the test Jira Rest config:
<username>testlink.forum</username>
<password>forum</password>
<uribase>https://testlink.atlassian.net/</uribase>
<uriapi>https://testlink.atlassian.net/rest/api/latest/</uriapi>
<uriview>https://testlink.atlassian.net/browse/</uriview>
<projectkey>ZOFF</projectkey>
<userinteraction>1</userinteraction>
<issuetype>1</issuetype>
</issuetracker>

What could be the reason of the connection problem? New Jira v7.3.1? Is the new JIRA v7.3.1 version not compatible with the TestLink 1.9.16 version :?:

Let me know if you need more info.

Re: JIRA 7.3.1 Rest integration: No Connection to JIRA possi

I've no access to a local JIRA INSTALLATION, all test are done using JIRA on Cloud.
You can try to connect to your jira using a different tool like postman, and see what is happening.
are you sure your JIRA has REST integration enabled?
are you sure the user you are using to connect has access to REST API?

I try to connect to my jira using postman and only get response after deactivating of "SSL certificate verification". Has Jira 7.3.1 also "SSL certificate verification" which should be disabled?
As far as I know, in JIRA 7.3.1 the REST integration is enabled and should not be enabled explicitly, is' not it?
My Jira user has development right. How can I verify that he has has an access to REST API?

it's not clear: when you said MY JIRA what version do you have?
sure the SSL certificare issue is what is blocking things, but i do not know how disable it.

We are using Jira Version 7.3.1

Since a connection to the Jira is possible after switching off of "SSL certificate validation" using postman, is it possible to disable this validation/check in the TestLink somehow?

Could someone already successfully connect TestLink with the Jira version 7.x over rest api?

Try http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1513 ... er-ignored
you need to add changes to RestRequest.php in fayp-jira-rest folder

It works now, thank you very much! :)

After I've disabled verification for host and peer in RestRequest.php the connection to jira was successful!!!

curl_setopt($cHandler, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, false);
curl_setopt($cHandler, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, false);
