1 Test, many conditions?

Postby max » Tue Nov 25, 2008 7:13 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to evaluate TestLink to see if it's good for a semiconductor testing flow. In this case you might have one testcase (Does A+B work?) that is run across different conditions (voltage, temperature, process).

In playing w/ the demo I couldn't seem to figure out to adapt this sort of structure. Ideally I'ld like a structure like :

Project
....Block/Group
........Test Category / Subblock
............Test Case
................Condition

In terms of scope you may have 10's of blocks w/ 10's of subblocks each, 10's of test cases per subblock, and 10's of conditions per test case. Times them all together and there are a *lot* of things to keep track of.

Do you think this structure and volume/scale is possible inside of TestLink?

Thanks!

You can consider another approach: TestLink allows to define "Custom fields" for execution. You should specify a list of conditions and assign it for particular results.
Anyway, your structure is possible.
