Testlink & SourceForge

Postby aostad » Wed Apr 08, 2009 4:44 pm

I'm wondering if Testlink can use bug tracking system in SourceForge, which is a SW development version control system along with bug tracking, release management, and documentation system.

If Testlink could work with SourceForge then we can use its bug tracking system for testlink too.

This the problem that I'm facing. Our SW development team using SourceForge while we, Test team, may consider using Testlink.

Any idea?

aostad,

What do you mean by SourceForge? I've never heard of it as an individual product. Do you mean the dev team got it from http://sourceforge.net/ ?

TestLink integrates with several bug tracking systems but I don't think "SourceForge" is one of them. Try and get some more details on the bug system for us.

aostad,

I can't see where SourceForge is one of the supported systems. However, because this is open source you could build your own. SourceForge has an API and there are several examples of what you would need to to do in the folder "Websites\testlink\lib\bugtracking". I believe it wouldn't be that difficult.

The existing implementation for Trac, in the file, int_trac.php, would probably be a good example.

And you would be adding to the community if you posted what you developed.
