As current testcase import methord has many restrictions, like only support xml, only can support one test step, etc. I use python3+xlrd model to write a new script, which can export the content in excel to xml, and then you can import that into testlink The script support - main testcase attributes...

After I uncheck the Microsoft Word 14.0 object library and check Microsoft Word 10.0 object library, and the xmls files generated.

I use the xls in /docs/utils, both "check columns" and "generate XML" give error, does anybody ever use the script successfully? Now what I have is a xml sheet, which can import testcase name, summary, pre-conditions, step to TL successfully, while the problem is it only support ...

Thanks so much for the sharing, I think the script is pretty useful.
In my case, both test summary and test step/result will probably have multiple lines, is it possible that the script be adapt to support multiple lines?

I have set vertical in config.inc.php: $tlCfg->spec_cfg->steps_results_layout = 'vertical'; The testcase layout in test specification page already becomes vertical. while use the "Generate Test Specification Document" function, the document layout is still in horizontal. How to change this...

do you use IE? I have same problem with IE in 1.9.1, while if I use Firefox, it's ok.
BTW, IE in 1.9.0 is working fine.

the issue is fixed after I install JIRA on the same machine of TL. Seem that you can't put ip address in the db host line. You can only input localhost. this is my experience.

I support Matt, import testcase from excel is very convenient and I believe it's needed for most of the users. Can this issue be treated with high prioirty and fixed in next 1.9.2.
