Dolby Laboratories

Recently, the QA department at Dolby labs has opted to use TestLink as their Test Management System. This adoption has been made for all QA teams within the company. Many members of the team, including myself, have used testlink for several years. We have selected TestLink for its rich feature set b...

Re: tl.createtestproject

Not entire related but it seems that there is an issue when specifying options to tl.createTestProject. Here is what I send to the server. <?xml version="1.0"?> <methodCall> <methodName>tl.createTestProject</methodName> <params> <param><value><struct> <member><name>options</name><value><st...

Re: How to I generate a dev key to access the API?

Hi Bharath, I am currently implementing a python and Perl version of the API providing an object model mapping the TL constructs. I am planning to release it back to the TL project but will need to get approval from my company to do so so it might take a few weeks - don't know if you can wait that l...

Re: How to I generate a dev key to access the API?

Hi Bharath, I strongly suggest that you upgrade your installation to the latest release which has been fully tested. I am running the latest and could not reproduce the issue you are talking about. Speaking of the API, please note that there is actually way more APIs that appear to be available than...

Re: Join Test Link QA Team

For sure I will only submit people who are interested and committed to dedicate their time, me being one of them. I remember seeing a while back that there was a TestLink task force out of Japan but I never see any concrete coming out of it (but I might be wrong). I have a few questions: Does the te...

Re: Join Test Link QA Team

OK. Well we have a team of 27 testers in China, US and Canada which are all using testlink. I was thinking that as a way to help your team ... we could all contribute a little. If they reply to this post, would this be sufficient? Or would you prefer if I gather a list?

Re: Join Test Link QA Team

How many people do you need? (since it seems there is already a test plan). If needed, I could always arrange for more people to join.

Re: Join Test Link QA Team

I am willing to help as far as executing test cases. Regarding who I am, I am a QA manager who has deployed several instances of TL in different organizations. TL is a great test case management system and in order to keep it that way, we need to test it ... hence my motivation. You can contact me a...

How to I generate a dev key to access the API?

I have installed 1.8.4 (on top of an existing 1.8.3 installation). The testlink config file has the TL api set to true yet when I go to the user info page, I do not see the button to generate the dev key. $tlCfg->api->enabled = TRUE; I looked through the smarty templates and I see that there is code...

Installation issues

My IT guy has attempted to install 1.8 Beta 1 and failed. Then he used the latest from CVS with the same results. Are you aware of these problems? I do not have the details about the failure at this time but can provide them to you. I doubt that this is a rookie mistake as we already installed 1.6, ...

Let me give it a try. Also, I told you a while back I would try to give you a hand. Things are a bit hectic over here but I haven't forgotten.

Thanks
Talk to you later.

Updating test case version in a test plan

I came across an issue where if a test case part of a test plan has already been executed, I cannot update the version. The only choice I have are a) remove the test case and add it in which case I loose the history or b) copy the entire test plan in which case I also loose the hitory. If I remember...
