Dutch translation available / Nederlandse vertaling
TestLink has had a partial Dutch translation since 1.8.0. I have now completed it, and added translations for the functionality that arrived between 1.8.0 and 1.9.4. At least, I have completed the 'normal' user interface: a few areas such as the audit log and server errors I haven't yet done. Probab...

Re: assign one testcase to multiple testers
I'm not completely sure what you want to do. Do you mean that some test cases are to be run on multiple platforms, while others are to be run on only one, but it doesn't matter which one? You could for example define platforms "HP desktop", "Dell laptop", "Acer laptop" ...

Re: assign one testcase to multiple testers
Re: platforms. I haven't used them much myself, but this is indeed the sort of situation they are intended for. Did you have a reason for thinking they might cause problems?

Re: Dutch translation
As you can see in this thread, the Dutch translation has had a rather checkered history, with people starting on it and not finishing. As of version 1.7.4 we have had a Dutch translation that was perhaps half complete, and has become steadily less complete with all the new functionality added since ...

Improved English text available
I have been through the English text files (en_GB - the default TestLink language) and corrected a lot of language mistakes and typos. I have also tried to clarify a few of the descriptions. It's not perfect, but I think it's a significant improvement on what we had up until now. The files will be i...

Re: Multiple Testplans Or single test plan with platforms ?
@josri: you can create a test plan as a copy of a previous test plan. I'm not sure if that is what you were trying to ask.

Re: TestLink unable to access
Can you access the server using the IP address? If so, then there is a DNS problem. If not, probably not.

Re: Multiple Testplans Or single test plan with platforms ?
Assuming the test cases are near enough identical in the N different environments (e.g. checking a website in different browsers), this sounds like the sort of situation that Platforms are intended for. One reason for using platforms might be the possibility of a future release with rather different...

Re: Execute Each Step in a Test Case to Pass/Fail
Short answer: no.
The basic unit of testing is the Test Case, and the steps form a description of how the tester should execute the Test Case. It sounds as if you have combined multiple logical test cases in one TestLink Test Case. You would do better to split them up.

Re: Bug links inside HTML test report
A late response, but perhaps still of interest to someone: Yes, you can do this. Just insert the link in the test execution notes in HTML. e.g. (I hope this renders OK in this forum software): <a href="http://www.teamst.org/">Whatever link text you want</a> A clickable link is placed in th...

Re: Null values on table testprojects column prefix
In any database-based application, if a column has been defined to be non-nullable, but you make it nullable and introduce null values, then you should expect things to break somewhere. But the programmers may not be able to tell you exactly what will break and when - the column was defined non-null...

Re: net help for adding information under resultBox
I'm not quite sure what you wish to achieve. I gather you want to mark a test case to show that it is currently being executed. (You have test cases which take a long time to execute?) But why is it important to know that? If you wish to avoid someone else wasting effort by running the same test cas...

How can I help with the User Manual?
I notice that the TestLink user manual has not been updated for quite a long time. The English would benefit from some tidying up. As a native English speaker I would be happy to help with this, and perhaps also do other updates. However it is not clear to me how to obtain the latest version, nor ho...

Re: Email parameters rejected by TestLink
Well, I've fixed the problem, even if I'm not sure what exactly it was. For some reason the config_check.txt file was not being updated. I deleted it and it was recreated without this error message. (Now I just have sort out why TestLink can't find the GD library.)

Re: Email parameters rejected by TestLink
So why would TestLink be giving me that message then? I'm using an editor with colour-coding, so I'm quite sure I haven't accidentally commented those lines out.
