Re: proper process?

Thank you both, understood. I can't wait for the GA version. I need to take a look at a release candidate but have been so busy, I haven;t had a chance. Thanks for a great product.

proper process?

I have been using Testlink for a long while now but one thing that always bothered me is if I realize that I am missing a test case and add it to the test plan, it skews the results of all the previous builds. I realize that the percentage calculations are accurate, the test was not run against the ...

Wish I could help you but I can't, I do not use test case versioning, I disabled it as well.

Today I decided to take another look at this and decided to run the install on a fresh database just to see what happens. Turns out that the gui/templates_c directory wasn't writable and was causing all of my issues. Why is that directory packaged read only if the installation requires it to be writ...

Grrr.... I just don't get it... http://ip/testink-1.7.1 works but http://ip/testlink (which is 1.7.3) doesn't. I should have mentioned that my situation is slightly different then Arun's, he mentioned he actually gets the login page. I noticed that my 1.7.1 deployment does redirect to this expired s...

Any ideas on this one? I am running into the same issue when I upgrade from my working 1.7.1 deployment to 1.7.3?

I wonder if it might be related to this post?

Yup. Works great! Just edit the config file and you can edit executed testcases.

I read the sticky posts and found out how to enable the editing of executed testcases in config.inc.php. :D

/** [Test case] */
// 1 -> user can edit executed tc versions
// 0 -> editing of executed tc versions is blocked. [STANDARD BEHAVIOUR]
$g_testcase_cfg->can_edit_executed=1;

Thanks!

I would be interested to know how other test management tools manage the situation you have despicted. BTW, Quality Center allows for "on the fly" edits during execution runs and subsequent runs automatically pick up the newest version of a testcase. There is no concept for multiple versi...

First off let me complement the TL team on their product, it is an excellent alternative to some of the commercial tools out there. You have another possibility: allow editing of executed test cases. In this way you loose info about version, but can run build 2 against the updated test cases. fman, ...
