Upgrade from Testlink 1.9 RC1 to testlink 1.9.0 release

Post by oileanach »

Hi,

Topic is self explanatory. I want to get the steps to upgrade from testlink 1.9 RC1 to testlink 1.9.0 release. What are the easiest steps to do this. I am using a Wn2003 server, XAMPP (for Apache and PHP) and MS SQL 2008 as the DB.

When i click the upgrade installation link, it only says upgrade from 1.8 to 1.9. Is it ok to use this or is there a better way.

Thanks in advance,

When beta were released Dev Team clearly declared that will not be provided any kind of migration procedure to migrate from BETAs to Stable Release.
Only procedure developed is available in third_party folder \user_contributions\migrate_cf_links.php, that helps to migrate CF.
For the rest you have to compare SQL statements provided on installation scripts and make changes on DB SCHEMA manually.

Hey I upgraded from 1.9 RC1 to 1.9. I used a program called beyond compare (to compare the folders). I was able to check that there are no DB schema changes. As far as files go there are a few changes to the php files but not many. I would suggest making a backup first, then extract the release version in your web directory (moving/archiving RC1) then dump your .conf files and any other files you may have edited. I had no problems doing this and having 1.9 release come up without incidents.
