Hi,
I am having some issues in import excel with custom fields.
Following are the steps I followed. (Here I tried to reverse the process, because I need to find whether the excel I got is matching to my test case template or not.)
Step 01: I included a single custom field as Test Type and I created the test case. (Eg: Test Type = "Functional")
Step 02: Then I export the test case to XML
Step 03: Then I tried to import that XML to Excel. But, the Test Type which should be in the Header
of the column is in the row and the value of the Test Type is in the very next to the Test Type. It means Test Type and value are in horizontal way, but, I need those
in Vertical way as Columns according to my test case template. (Default fields are imported correctly as Columns)
So, is there are any methods to get these custom fields in columns?
Thank you..

Re: XML Import Issue
Hi,
Thank you for your attention regarding this issue..
In the XML generation section it is mentioned as click on the "Export Testcases to TestLink" button to execute Excel Macro. Can I know where that button is available.
(I am using Testlink 1.9.16 Mokapot version )
Thank you..

Re: XML Import Issue
The button is in the top of the Excel file, in the title row.
I should add a screenshoot...

Re: XML Import Issue
Hi, Am having a problem in once I export the test cases from testlink.
Once I export that XML from testlink and import back to Excel, the custom fields I added are coming in the rows of the Excel file (Not as the column header and value).
I wanted them as in columns (like in the excel sheet that you have shown)
Thank you..

Re: XML Import Issue
Hi,
01) Can you please let me know whether we can merge several fields. I mean I can merge fields in the Test Suite (Name and Details). But, once I started to merge Test case related things we were unable to generate XML file. it says in the log file as " The generated XML file is wrong. The following errors must be fixed in Excel file to fit with TestLink XML format : TestCase information on row 4 must not be present because a TestSuite declaration is done on this line". Is there any possibilities to overcome this issue?
