Configuration of the Generated Documentation

Post by Tug378 »

Hello All,

I am very new to TestLink 1.8.5 however I have been impressed so far.

My question is in relation to the generated documentation.

I like the output of the Test Plan and Test Report, however I was wondering if it is possible to use an existing template we have which is regulatory specific and have the document content actually update into our template.

Thanks Jason.

Dear all,

I am also the new user and want to modify the look of the test Report. It looks good, but I want to simplify the looks; so, please help me and teach me how to modify the look.

Hello Amaradana, thank you for your reply.

We currently have a test document that has been created that fulfills requirements for regulatory audit purposes. Currently this document is used when creating and writing tests as the company have never had Test Management tools before.

I am convincing the company that a TM tool would be a very good idea, I have shown them TestLink and the samples of the Test Plan and Test Report, however what I would like is the contents of these reports to be combined with the test document we currently have. This would save a lot of copy and pasting between documents.

In other words the standard test plan document generated in TestLink would look exactly the same as our current Test document.

If you require further information then please let me know.

I will try and explain this even more....

We currently have a test document that has been created that fulfills requirements for regulatory audit purposes, contained within this document are all the test cases we plan to execute. Currently the test case section is manually created.

What i would like if possible is:

If I clicked on the Test Specification Document within TL and selected the test cases and requirements (for example), then the document when generated would be that of OUR regulatory document but would also contain a section that would have the test cases and requirements that the current Test Specification Document would currently generate.

The only very very simple way i can put this is, if you where to generate the Test Specification document in TL, you would get our regulatory test document.
I hope this make more sense, I am unsure what more I can tell you as I think I have said everything in this and my previous post.
