Will this Testlink send a notification mail to assigned user

will it be possible for the testlink to send notification email after admin user assigned testcases to be excuted.
I configured Testlink (updated custom_config.inc.php file with email configuration) but still testlink not sending any notification mails to the assigned user whenever updates happens.
Request you to help in this.
