hotfix for 1.9.12

Post by stef-lhm »

i have read a lot in mantis and in this forum as well.
Couldn´t find the right hint.
in http://mantis.testlink.org/view.php?id=6609 it was mentioned to make an upgrade wit git, but on our environment it is not possible to install the git. The serveradmin said no.
my question is, the latest fixes are in an complete TL Package? that means the fixes for 1.9.12 is not an update package, it is the 1.9.13 version?
so is it possible to unpack the download *tar.gz in a new TL-1_9_13 directory, do the web-installation an copy the DB-config and the custom-config from 1.9.12 to 1.9.13 and run the DB-update script?

it would be nice to have a package and a script with the fixes only for the future. Is it possible? may things will be easier thru this?

read carefully what is explained in the mantis issue and ask also to your sysadmin guy to read it.
there is no need to install git.

we both read carefully what is explained, but when downloading the http://gitorious.org/testlink-ga/testli ... stlink_1_9 we get a full 1.9.13 TL package.
it would be easier to exchange the sources which changed.
Would you please be so kind to explain a litte more. try an error is not the right way i think...

Effort to provide detail of changed files for each feature / fix , is IMHO to high and useless.
Fix for 1.9.12 is 1.9.13, that's method used on this project, that has worked till today.
I normally add ticket reference on each commit, but can not be 100% the times, then if you want this microscopic detail you need to work using GIT and GIT repo
or trying with the info gitorious provide on the web interface ( I do not use it a lot).

This info is fine for me! Thanx a lot.
Now i found the detailed info of the method you use on http://sourceforge.net/projects/testlin ... %201.9.13/
after reading this everything is clear and i can change my own lifecycle and updateszenario for Hotfixes.
IMHO the description on sourcefourge is necessary to read an to understand your method on git.

thank you very much!
