Retrieving Dev Key Programmatically

Hi,

I interested in writing a Swing front-end for Testlink and I'm wondering if there's a way to retrieve the dev key programmatically via the API? i.e. I'd like a user to log in to the swing app with their username/password then have the app authenticate against the testlink server on their behalf, retrieving the dev key in the process and then using it for subsequent operations.

I've looked through both the documentation and source code of the API and can't see a mechanism to provide the dev key in this manner.

Is this possible to do?
