Test Specification Tree view change (worked in 1.8.5)

Post by brokentilez »

The tree view in 1.8.5. allowed the user to view all test suites and test cases in a tree view.

I have since upgraded ( edit: fresh installed 1.9. I could not get upgrade to work ) and I created multiple test suites and a test case.

issue: I can no longer view all test suites at once. I must use the filter to see individual suites. This is a problem since all test cases were built within a large tree of suites for organizational purposes.

See attached pictures of before and current images.

Is there a configuration or change that can be made to this so I can see the tree view similar as in 1.8.5 ( all suites, cases are availabale without using filters)? The manual seems to be the old 1.8.5 manual with no reference to the new tree view.

1.9.0 There is no way to see other test suites in the drop down

1.8.5 I received a + mark to see the suites

Sorry for the delay in uploading the screen shots. I thought I could upload them to the forum, but had to put them on a separate site.

Please see my updated screenshots in the main post. I can't see all test suites in the main edit page without using a filter. I can only filter suite by suite in 1.9.0.

I still have the same problem. I have logged out/in multiple times. I have used different computers ( MAC, PC ) and different browsers IE, Firefox. Still no luck.

Again to restate my problem: I can't view all the test suites/cases at the same time in one big tree view. I can only see one suite at a time and it requires the use of a filter to see any type of suite.

On initial load I do get a circle with an arrow. Then it goes away and doesn't let me see anything.

I don't know what I'm missing. Thank you so much for your time!! I think I found a bug too. Delete the case prefix ID and click reset filters, and bam. SQL bug.

I'm thinking I have a messed up configuration ( it's the default one that came in the downloaded zip file ). I only added the config_db.php file.

UPDATE: I just did a database migration on my own PC with root database priveledges and all my items updated properly. Test Specification is working as expected. I'm now going to export the 1.9 database with all of my properly saved test cases and import it into a new database for the new server.

Thanks for the time and help. I still don't know what the problem is, but I think it has something to do with having valid test plans or something.

Its really intresting, The link and the crdentials that you provided me, I gave a try, as you said, they are not working.

I created new version of 1.8.5 > 1.9 with just two test suites and it worked for me in my local. I did not try with >500 cases. I will give a try and let you know.
Thanks,

I think not all the cases have been miograted. need more tests on your db.

Offline: Thank You for solving one of my problem(free hosting), as you pointed me at some good site, which iam reviewing. I am hoping i can install my test copy of testlink on the webserver so that i can access any time
