Running 2 instances of same test case

Post by oileanach »

Hi,

I have a quick question.

I created my test case in test specification. What i would like to be able to do is to be able to run that test case by 2 seperate people within the same project. For instance. I want to be able to run the test case by a SIT tester and a UAT tester within the same project. I dont mind whether this is for 2 seperate builds/plans or whatever but i cant seem to set this up.

Can someone please help?

Thanks

Test Case Title is Unique, you can not add two test cases with same name. Instead, you need to work either one on the below

I understand from you requirement that a specifi group of test cases needs ot tested on both the SIT and UAT teams

1. Cretae two test cases with same content and by differentiating in title either it is SIT or UAT,
2. Create two different test plans for the SIT and UAT and assign the same tets case to the both test plans

Just for tracking pupose create two words UAT and SIT and assign them to the test cases. this will help you in the metrics related

Choose either one of the above menthod

This doesn't work for my workflow.

We have team wide test days and in some cases, we do want to assign multiple people the same set of test cases. From the description above, that means I would have to create 3 or 4 versions of the same test case and alter the title so that it is unique.

This isn't ideal as it then creates and balloons out the number of test cases.

Assigning of same test cases to multiple persons is not a valid. I never seen in any case. Assigning to multiple teams is appropraite , as i stated before you can create two different test plans SIT and UAT and assign them to teams respectively. or create a two different test suites SIT and UAT and they can have same test case and you can assign accordingly
