"Pretty" Word Extract

Post by ngiraud »

I open this subject to share with you a behave that testlink user's have in my company : produce a pretty extract of requirements and test cases (and tomorrow test execution) for client delivery.

We decide to resolve this to create a maven plugin that reading the testllink database, and extract data.
How does it work :
- You prepare a Microsoft Word template
- You configure a maven project (above 20 lines of XML)
- You launch the maven plugin

As we are working in continuous integration environement, we configured our Jenkins to lauch this build each night, and provide this "pretty document" to our clients with the last revision of the last version of requirements.

So If some of you are intereted about this kind of tools, my company think about share them with the testlink community.
I need to push this sharing yours feedback, and maybe about your interest, about this kind of tools, because the plugin is now in french, and it's not very usefull for the community !

Think best option is you create a repository with your code on github or other similar place, and put the development there.
Then we can add some links here and on TestLink distribution, and your work will have better visibility.

Hi,

It's a great idea to have created this plugin, and it will be very usefull to eveyone.

Actually to do a "pretty" report, we used the print fonction and print the report in pdf.

And sometime we modify the html source to add the testproof directly in the report.

Regards.
