1.9.x and bulk assing execution for [Any] and [Nobody]

Post by narsu »

Hi!

I have been trying to solve way to assing test case exection problem with my project. Can I assing test case execution to Anybody?
Currently only possible choises are existing users. I would like to share execution to all team members without predefinition of execution assignments?

If this done different way, Plese tell how to do it right way?

More Info:

This problem is actually found by trying out 1.9.7 source.
I cannot open report pages (blocke/failed/ because testlink says there is no assigned testers with cases?
I can still find exection results in other pages eg. test result matrix?

If I assign exection to some user I can see results? Is this corret functionaltiy?

1. 1.9.7 is not released then talking about this version only create confusion on users.
2. there is no problem IS A DESIGN CHOICE, assignment can be done only on defined users.

Hi!

You can use filters in execution page "Assigned to" [Any], [Nobody] [Somebody]? eg. 1.9.5
Those values are not used anymore?

Should I create a "AnyTester" user account which takes all [Any] assignments, but execution is done by who does it first? Could this be a solution path?
Without [Any] assignment status this could this lead to micro management of team?

Anybody and Nobody are right abstractions for filtering, but not for assignment.
You need to create some workaround, AnyTester is BAD because identifies no team.
If you have teams the better option is:
BlueTeam, FastTrackTeam, etc.

Then a procedure that have to be followed by human beings, regulates who is part of each team.

Ok!

Team name as user account is a good solution, but it can be also misleading?
Anyway it works!
Thank you for you help!
