Search by testcase number impossible without prefix

Hello

I am using 1.9.5.

I am currently using testlink and our database has currently several thousands of testcases. therefore search feature is essential for us.

We are not using ANY prefixes on some projects so that our cases always look like -22777 for example

is there any way to make the search feature work because everytime I try to look for an existing testcase , i get "no result" , whether i try with - or without -

search box in the main menu or in the search page display the same "no result".

However some other project newly created on 1.9.5 with a prefix (seems that it's mandatory now ?) , search works fine with the prefix, results are correctly returned as output.

I tried migrating to 1.9.6/1.9.7, no change at all

is there some additionnal settings i must add ? any log file or trace file i could provide ? I can also declare it on Mantis but I wanted to check here first.

your installation have issues because you can not have test projects without prefix.
if empty prefix is allowed this is an issue.
You need to put prefix on your test projects, then everything is going to work ok.

i'm OK with the prefix thing, but i remember getting an answer (also seen in installation docs) that prefixes were not mandatory in a previous release, and I did not see anything highlighting the mandatory aspect after that. Sorry, probably my bad.

Among my projetcts, apart from a distinct one that has its own prefix, i don't have any prefix for any other project (since some of them were created on old releases of TLink).

Would it be possible to add it afterwards with database update query (one letter would be sufficient since i am not using prefixes at all, and will not intend to in the future) with all the projects set to the same prefix so that search feature works again ?

settings all test project prefix to same value is a wrong option and has not to be done.
If you give a look to testprojects table you will be able to update prefix without any kind of help
