Which reports would you like to have in Testlink?

Post by sumlord »

Hi,

For my diploma thesis I chose a topic "Reports used in test management tools".

In the part of practical application, I would like to extend Testlink's Report module with some new features.

Which charts or reports do you miss in Testlink?
Did you use other test management tools with some useful charts that you would like to have in Testlink?

I am looking forward to all of your suggestions and ideas.

Have a nice day

Hi,
sorry for the lack of answers here ^^
I hope you are still onto that topic! Current reports are kind of a weak point in Testlink imho.
What I'm missing is a simple overview over all Testcases form a Testrun (last build) independet of tester assignement and with only the following datafields in one neat table:

Testcase ID | Testcase (Title) | Testresult(s)* | Tester(s)* | Testnotes |Reportet Bug(s)|Execution type (manual/atomatic)| Test exceution date

*I would like to have a report that shows all executions by all testers from one testrun, not only the last result

Thank you for your response.
I also heard that reports are weak point in Testlink, but I have never run a project, so I don't know, which reports test managers use.
I am looking forward for even more ideas from you.

Hi,

herer is some more feedback from fellow testers:

Date of last failed test execution, Volatility (value based on how often the testcase failed based on all executions ever done)

What i really need in every Testspecifikation for our customers is a "Anforderung Überdeckungsmatrix" / "Requirement coverage matrix" - the 'easiest' way could be a dokument like the "Requirement Specification Document" - but only with the testcases of the TestPlan. (I hope you understand what i mean ;) )

Another report interesting to have (and requested by our users) is the "Test Report on Keyword".
Similar to the report "Test Report on Build", but instead of selecting the builds, we select the keywords we want to see and the report is generated with only the test cases assigned with the selected keywords.

it would be great to be able to see test status against a requirement regardless of build or test plan - i.e. where are we with delivering this project...

How do you create your own reports? Is there a collection of existing custom reports somewhere?
Creating a custom report is my task right now as well but none of the tutorials / steps in TL documentation seem to work as theyre all outdated
Cheers
