TestLink

Hi,
I just started using test link today, we have installed version 1.9 in our office. I am in the process of writing test cases and noticed that the fields available to me are different than those in the manual and the demo pages. When I create a test case the only fields I see are Test Case Title, Summary, & Preconditions. In all documentation and demo pages I've seen the test case fields are Test Case Title, Summary, Steps, and Expected Results. These fields would work much better for me, I have spent a lot of time looking through settings, the manual and the forum pages and cannot figure out why mine is different. Is it something that needs to be set in the config files? Any help is appreciated.

Testlink 1.9 is not yet ready to be used in production (it is still in beta). Several parts of the functionality are still being developed, including the test case structure. You should download and use 1.8 instead if you wish to have a stable, working version of Testlink. Note also that the features you wish to have - such as test case title, summary, steps and expected results - are in 1.8, which the documentation is for. (The documentation has not yet been updated for 1.9)
