Upgrade 1.7.5 to 1.9.0

Hi all,
A while back, I raised bugs (#3305 & #3306) that were present in the 1.8.x code line. This was raised while attempting to update from 1.7.5 to the latest 1.8.x code; however the problems described in these bugs prevented us from proceeding. Since that time we've remained on 1.7.5.
Recently we had some time to attempt an upgrade to the latest 1.9.0 version of TestLink; in which this bug has now apparently been resolved. We attempted the upgrade; however the 1.9.0 installer informs us that we need to update to 1.8.x first. The problem is that the bug fix is not present in this release.
Is there any way that we can upgrade to the 1.9.0 release directly from 1.7.5. Or are there any database scripts that we can run manually?
