Is it possible to make custom fields mandatory?

I have the same question...
I need a custom mandatory field or can especificate default value for this.
Maybe the solution to my problem is easier, but is the only solution I see. My problem is: I need especificate that a test case is desactivate or not (not the last version, the test case).
Some idea??

In the same line...
I think is very useful can search test case and indicate “I don’t like the test case have this value”. Now, you can only search test cases which “X” value in the field “Y”, but you can’t search test case which value different to “X”!
Is possible do that now? This can available too?

1. forum is not for feature request and this very clear on READ BEFORE WRITE POST
2. using a post or an issue with some subject to ask for a different thing is a bad habit and an error. you can get lot of info about how a post or an issue has to be done in order to be effective.
