Unable to query imported testcases

I loaded testcases with certain custom fields. Some were string, list or multi-list. But after the import, when I tried to filter/query testcases(from the navigation bar) based on the value of the custom field say the one having type as String, Im unable to get any results. However if I create one more test case with values being loaded through testlink GUI interface, then it filters only that testcase not the ones which I imported through xml.
