Use of ESTIMATED_EXEC_TIME in existing TCs?

Post by jptest »

I have a couple of questions:

I added the custom fields: CF_ESTIMATED_EXEC_TIME (and CF_EXEC_TIME)
1. How do I have it show up on existing TCs without having to create a new version of each?
2. If I have to create a new version of each, is there a way to mass create?

To use this field effectively, I'd like to be able to see:
1. How long will it take to execute a Test Suite/Test Plan (I believe I can get this through Test Report - Metrics)
2. How long will it take to execute remaining TCs (Not run TCs) in a Test Plan. (Is this an enhancement request or is there a way?)
3. A simple report of
- # of TCs in a test plan, by Test Suite
- Total Estimated Execution time (preferably by test suite plus a grand total!)
- Total Actual time of executed TCs
- Total of Estimated execution of remaining TCs by test suite (or even by tester) so I can tell how much time remains on each tester's plate.

Any assistance or reference is greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
