Controlling test execution order

I have saved an execution order in my Test Plan, but this does not have any effect on the order the tests display on the Test Execution tab. My tests are in various Test Suites (folders in tree). Does it only order within each Test Suite? Is there any way to see the order in another view when you are executing the tests?
