Test Plan Metrics

Post by chopper »

First of all, I just wanted to thank you for putting out a really useful tool. We just wrapped up our first (and a pretty intense) round of testing and TestLink was VERY helpful to us.

Once thing that I do nott get is the test plan metrics. What I want them to show is the % completed of the current build. The problem we had is that we typically run the whole test plan several times but once you start over, the metrics do not reset to 0.

Is there some way to reset them to 0?

Why not create a new Test Plan based on the older one?

We started doing some of that, but the problem with that is that we\'d have to create a copy of a test plan for each build. We\'re already having to do that for each person and environment we\'re testing with. That means we have about 20 test plans and we might have 10-15 builds per cycle. That means we could have up to 300 test plans. That\'s a lot of test plans...

It seems like it also breaks the connection between builds and test plans. I like being able to to filter my results by build on the execution page.

Ideally, it would be awesome if there was a selector for build on the main page. Selecting a build would give you the percent of the test plan done for just that build. If you include an \'All\' option, it would act like it does now.

Maybe this is a feature request for 1.7, but it would be awesome if there was some better temporary workaround.

Kevin created a new report (in 1.6) where you can choose list of builds for the report (named Query). You can use his work and make patch to show also metrics you require.
