how to assign a test case or test plan to a user

Please let me know how to assign a test case or a test plan to a specific user, who will execute the test cases.

Steps which i had tried:-
1) Click on execute link
2) From the left hand menu, if i select a user from the drop down and click on apply button.

All the test cases vanishes. Please let me know how to figure out this prob?

It has disappeared because you activate the filter test cases by assigned users. To assigne user to the specific test case you have to do the following steps:

1. Click Assign Test Case execution link
2. Choose Test Suite or Test Case
3. Choose a user from list and select choosen Test Case(s)
4. Click Update selected Test Case(s)

After this when you'll make yours steps aone more time you should see all test cases assigned to a specified earlier user.

Couple of more questions
1) What's the use of "Bulk user assignment" nothing is happening if i select a user from the drop down!
2)Is there any way we can assign all test cases for a project to a specific user in one go (like in one click all the avail test cases will be assigned to a user)?

1) and 2) answer in one:
when you choose from the dropdown, and submit the button, it will assign the marked testcases to that user at once. my guess is, that you did not mark anything, thats at least what happened to me, the first time i used this
