Best way to organize OS/browser matrix in Testlink

Post by mfriedenhagen »

Hello,

I work in company where we mostly develop webapplications. I may easily define testcases and testplans. Now I want to run the same tests for different combinations of operating systems and browsers. My idea was to have testcases describing a combination of OS and browser version and let one of these be the first testcase in an OS/browser specific testplan.

So I have a big number of testplans like:

PROJECT_5__XPSP1__IE55
PROJECT_5__XPSP2__IE55
PROJECT_5__XPSP1__IE60
PROJECT_5__TIGER_SAFARI20

Is there a better way to organize something like this in Testlink?

I saw that I may assign custom fields to a testplan only to have lists for this. However I did not see my custom fields on the demo site when defining testplans.

Best Regards
Mirko
