Hello,
I've been browsing around on the forum and could not find an answer to this specific questions. Our company has finally invested the time and effort into creating requirements and specifications. We did not have this luxury while using TL1.6 and before. So we're starting out from scratch attempting to go through using the CORRECT methodology of TestLink.
Questions:
1. Is there a way to auto-generate Test Suites (1 to 1) from Business Requirements in Test Link?
2. Is there a way to automatically create Test Suites from the Test Cases that were created from the Business Requirements in Test Link?
3. Is there a way to automatically convert Test Cases to Test Suites in Test Link?
4. Are there any plans on adding this feature (#1) in the future releases of Test Link?
Reason for the questions:
1. Trying to categorize test cases that will fall under a specific BR in its own bucket automatically
2. Creating a cleaner working environment
3. Easier to read and follow the flow this way
4. Current breakdown is to constrained.
When starting out in testlink in the requirements section, I go through the following steps:
1. Create New Requirement Spec in TL1.7 (from existing spec document)
2. Generate multiple Requirements from within that Spec.
3. When I've added my requirements, I click on 'Create Test Cases' from within the existing TL 1.7 Spec.
The problem is:
The requirements that are used to generate test cases are not testable items. The requirements (when originally entered) require test cases themselves in order to be properly tested.
At this point, I am unable to put test cases into test link that verify test coverage of a requirement generated item. This is currently a 1 to 1 ratio. I need a one to many ratio.
Please help,
Thank you.
