Test execution and plans are awol?

With the search function off-line I am compelled to post this most basic of questions! Apologies.

I am attempting to evaluate TL and need a little help.
Version 1.7.0 Role is "Senior Tester"

I would like to exercise two of the basic features:
1. Test Case Execution Results collection /metrics
2. Test Plan creation

I assumed that there would be a "run test case" section somewhere...am I just missing it?

On the HOME screen of our installation, under "Test Plan Management" there is nothing there. I am assuming this is where you Create/Edit/Delete Test Plans. Are we lacking something from the install?

I think this might also be where you "run" test cases from?

Somebody (Test Leader or Admin) who create the Test Plan must add appropriate role for your Senior tester account. Each Test Plan have extra assigned roles. So others don't see it for execution (except reports).
