Testing terminology standard
Dear users, we are looking for open standard of testing terms. Do you have some recommendation? Thanks.
It seems that there is an ISO recommendation (9646), SaloméTMF is using it. http://www.iec.org/online/tutorials/ttcn/index.html
I don\'t know how we (you, TestLink, whatever) could afford the original documents, since they cost about $100 each : http://www.iso.org/iso/en/CombinedQuery ... tring=9646.
QATrack is well organised too. One of the point about TestLink is that it enforce no semantic about its organisation. There are product, tests cases and plan, OK. But the components, categories and even requirements could be anything you want !
It will be hard to discuss the terminology without thinking about reorganising TestLink (from tree to flat layout, capability to add fields to the tests to organise as you want, ...)

The international standard of testing terminology you can find here:
http://www.istqb.org/downloads/glossary-current.pdf
Advantage: the national testing boards base their translations also on this glossary
For example here is the german translation:
http://www.german-testing-board.info/do ... DE_V20.pdf
I think it is the most popular standard actually for certification as certified tester in many countries

In addition: the summary to the glossary posted above.
