How do you assign tc to members and get reports per team?

Hi,

we've organized our tests in teams. We want to assign tests to team members but we want to get status reports based on the team the member belongs to.

How do you manage this? Is there any best practice? The best idea for me so far is to assign root entries in the tree to teams but we want to use this for product parts.

Any other idea would be welcome.

TestLink does not support Users Groups or Teams (if you search on mantis you can find a user contribution, but do not know if this will solve your issues, anyway the contribution is not supported by Dev Team).
You have several workarounds, and each provide you partial info on reports.

IMHO better alternatives are:

1. use build/release as Team
2. use platform as Team

IMHO you need to explore both options and analize results you get on different available reports
