links on attached files

When I create a new version (i.e. Test Case) the links on the attached files are lost on the new version and also on the old version.
What is the correct method to keep the links on the backup version?

Exact URL is not possible for security reason. I can cite developers: "It is feature".

However I would like to give you some details about my last request.
In fact, when I generate a new version of test cases including attached files, and later when I read the backup in "other version", my attached files have disapeared.
Can you explain me if you know a solution in order to avoid this trouble.
