NOT TESTLINK ISSUE - Mannual backup database not work

Post by shevian »

hi all:
Today I changed the server pc, and before that i backup mysql\data\(*.frm files) and copy to new pc disk.
My version is 1.8.5, this method of backup works in 1.7.
I wonder if there sth changed in 1.8?
Any help will be appriciated~

Best regards,
shevian

The above information is not clear. Please try to put some words

I am putting down my understanding below

DB scheme is changed from 1.7 to 1.8.5, if this is not the answer what you expect then try export the database and import in the new server. this might help you
Thanks,

You have to use the installer to update TL. With no product in the world you can expect the 'Brute force' solution you have use will work

Good news:
The problem has been solved by this way:
Copy mysql\data\testlink\*.frm files and mysql\data\ibdata1(for innoDB)
then paste into new server and right place.
End.
Thanks for your aplies, and i know what should be noticed next time.
