hello everybody.
I've got a question concerning updating TestLink.
while updating, all files get replaced, except for the file custom_config.inc.php. If I've done changes in the /cfg/<bugtracker>.cfg.php I'll loose them, if I don't have a backup of this file.
But if I replace the new files with the backups, I risk that I reverse changes on names of parameters or so on. and this could lead to errors.
is there anybody who has a solution for this problem?
thanks for help

Hi,
just don't do huge changes. have a list of files changed. backup your files before upgrading (there are pretty good backup tools out there where you can simply specify files or folders to be backuped - see "Backup Maker"). some files are intended to be changed - e.g. your bugtracker config. there is i think no risk by just replacing the newer files with your files.
if you are in doubt get a tool to compare files by their content. so you will see pretty quickly if there are any changes.
