Timeout editing notes of prior test executions

I would have added this to Mantis but the site isn't coming up so maybe some else has seen this:

We're on 1.8.3 and using this custom option ($tlCfg->exec_cfg->edit_notes = 1;) to allow users to edit the Notes of previous test case executions. Something we noticed rather quickly after enabling this is that if the Notes contain a single quote once you click Save the database update times out and the pop-up finally shows this error:

FastCGI Error
The FastCGI Handler was unable to process the request.

Error Details:

* The FastCGI process exited unexpectedly
* Error Number: -1073741819 (0xc0000005).
* Error Description: Unknown Error

HTTP Error 500 - Server Error.
