Requirements Document advice

Post by colross »

Hi. I wonder if anyone can offer some advice.
I am running Testlink 1.8.5
When creating requirements, the fields are:
Document ID
Title
Scope

The issue that I am having is that Document ID must be unique. I am unable to make sense out of this. It implies that there is only one requirement per document, when in reality one document contains many requirements.
Can someone offer advice on how I should use this field?

Cheers

DOC ID => REQ ID => must be unique

Thanks - I can live with that.
So, doing it this way, means that my "Title" becomes non-unique:
Title: General Requirements
RQ-000001
Scope: Ensure that we can sell this
RQ-000002
Scope: Ensure that we can make this
RQ-000003
Scope: Ensure that the Cost of producing this product does not exceed a 50% increase over the previous product cost at the time of release

So the Document ID is unique now, however, the title is not unique. The title is what is shown in the tree.
Is there a way to show the Document ID in the tree instead of the title?

if you have choose a different REQ-ID why you have to choose same title ?
anyway, please get 1.9 beta 5 and do some test there because req mgmt has been improved, but no more work will be done on previous versions
on 1.9 DOC ID is displayed on tree
