data organization and features related questions

Post by waldi »

Hi Folks,

First of all, congrat to the TL team! You well captured the QA reqs and did a great job!

We are about deploying TL for our QA as the central piece of the QA process.

We already implemented a couple of enhancements (excel Test Suites import, improve the organic user self registration with LDAP) and fixed a couple of bugs. We plan to push all this to TL after our go live.

But we have some question regarding the data organization in TL and the general use (Beta 1 1.8 ):

1) We have multiple tested products some being integrated with each other. We will create a Test Project per product. But we have also a set of Test Cases testing the integration between products. How can we create Test Plans including the Test Cases from different projects?

2) Our test cases require the execution on different environments:
- OS
- DB
- Browser
- Appserver
- Webserver
We are thinking to create custom fields available at the execution to store this information. Could you confirm that custom fields at the Test Case level is the right approach? The QA manager wants to view results of test execution for each of the above environments (Total Tests, Total Executed, Total Passed). Is there a feature allowing to group results by multiple Custom Fields?

3) We category a Test Case using multiple keywords: Acceptance, Migration, Integration, Globalization.
In test results, we want to see how many Migration, Acceptance tests have been executed? The current behavior is that the default reports run against single keyword and it doesn’t query against multiple keywords.

Thanks for your responses that would help us a ton!!!
