Images & pitures in test plan/report

Does anybody know how to configure the system to show the images ,which are in test plan, during generating html/word format of test plan/report.
I remember somebody had that problem and later he could solve it by configuring the system. Unfortunately, he did not replied to my request regarding putting deatail of configuration on the forum for others.
As I remember it has something to do with "remote" and "local" system.
