Bug Management without a configured BTS

I started with TestLink just a few time ago and because I need it quickly, I've configured it or developed some code in it in order to pass my needs. Since my company is working with Remedy for the defect management, there is no way (at list for the moment) I can link the Remedy to the TestLink.
What I would like to know is if there is any method to insert Bug IDs for a failed test case when there is no configured BTS ($g_interface_bugs = 'NO'). If yes, please let me know how.
As I've seen there is a table execution_bugs which if I have good understood will be used only when there's a configured BTS. Is there no option to work with it when no BTS is available?
Until now I've used the comment field to add the bug id but when there are multiple builds for the same test plan, the comments done while executing the tests for the previous build are no longer visible in the new execution phase. User can however filter on the last build which is not the desired workflow for me.
