Hi,
I was wondering, did anyone here ever tried to change the text boxes all around TL to use plain text instead of html?

For my use I can do only with plain text for all the descriptions, plans and test cases.
If in any event I will need an html text box I'll make a 2nd description textbox called HTML Description or something like that.

Besides, this way importing-exporting TCs will be much easier and the amount of data on the data base is reduced by ~1/4 when you remove all the html tags.

I agree. It will be useful if users can select "simple text" option during import. You are welcome to add a request to our tracker.
Anyway HTML editor has the ability put simple text from clipboard.

yes you can but

on 1.8 and sure on 1.8 you can choose to use NONE as webeditor, then you will not get fancy controls to paly with character fonts, table, etc => if you write plain text this will written as is on DB.
pleas explain why you said is not this way

fman, when I paste plain text (from notepad for example) into a test field, it will be pasted as plain text but saves as html. So I can paste:

1. do A
2. do B
c. do C

after loading the test it will look like

1. do A 2. do B 3. do C (same html <br>).

if there is a way to save plain text as plain text in the db as well, please tell me how.
