unable to assign 24+ test cases in a test suite to test plan

I am using the latest 1.8.5, and have issue of assign test cases to test plan in bunch.
Here is the issue:

[1] a test suite with 24 test cases.
[2] select all test cases in the test suite
[3] click save selected tests.
[4] web page refresh, but all selected test cases are de-selected, and tests are not assigned to test plan.

Check events and see no event of this failure.

Questions:

[1] how to check why it failed and which files I should I check?

Correction of the problem:

+ test-suite 1 (54)
+ test-suite 1.1 (17)
+ test-suite 1.2 (2)
+ test-suite 1.3 (5)
+ test-suite 1.4 (6)
+ test-suite 1.5 (24)

Following action FAILed:

[1] Select 'test-suite 1' then select all Test Cases to Add
[2] Select 'test-suite 1' then select/check 'test-suite 1.1'
[3] Select 'test-suite 1' then select/check 'test-suite 1.5'

Following action SUCCESS:

[1] Select 'test-suite 1' then select/check 'test-suite 1.2'
[2] Select 'test-suite 1' then select/check 'test-suite 1.3'
[3] Select 'test-suite 1' then select/check 'test-suite 1.4'
[4] Select 'test-suite 1.1' then select All Test Cases to Add
[5] Select 'test-suite 1.5' then select All Test Cases to Add

Looks like the number of tests to add is part of the failure reason but only under another test-suite.

Can anyone point me the code I can check the problem?
I do not see any FAILURE message in the audits.log and userlog0.log.

I did not get your point, are "+ test-suite 1.1 (17)
+ test-suite 1.2 (2)
+ test-suite 1.3 (5)
+ test-suite 1.4 (6)
+ test-suite 1.5 (24)" sub folders of test-suite 1?

If so its not possible only way you can assign is select single test suite/sub folder and then add test cases as far as i know. Will let you know if its possible

[1] test suite 1.1 to 1.5 are sub-suites of 1
[2] I also found out that if a test suite contains 70+ tests, then I can not assign to test plan.
Exactly number can be assigned I have to test out.

I am also facing the same issues with Test link 1.7.4 and in 1.9
In 1.7.4 I am able to assign till 27 test cases and not above & in 1.9 I was able to assign till 47 test cases and not above this no.
Any help on this will be highly appreciated. Please
