Formatting after paste doesn't seem to work well

I have copied data into the Steps and Expected Results fields. I used the 'paste from word' feature as the TestLink Users Manual suggests. At times, when editting this data afterwards, the formatting gets all messed up. I see the messed up formatting after I add numbering. The following three scenarios seem to happen.

Sometimes the numbers get indented and start over again.
1. some data
2. some more data
1. some indeneted data, which should not be indented, and can't change back in any way
-> How can this be moved back to match the first set of numbers? There is no option for this.

Sometimes the numbers skip a space and start over again.
1. some data
2. some more data

1. more data with a larger spacing and the number starting over again

Sometimes the data is still lined up with the numbered data but no number is assigned to the data.
1. some data
2. some more data
more data lined up but no number
