How to define rights?

Post by vayal »

Hi,

Thanks for the wonderful tool. I am using testlink 1.6.2

We have one excel sheet to capture our monthly efforts. So in testlink i added a link to that excel sheet, now the problem is, testlink is used by all the memberes in our project, but the excel sheet is only for our team members. So i have to assign some rights to my team members so that they can only see that link(as like create product can be seen only to admin)
Could you please help?

Hi,

do you have used a Test-Suite? I know, you can assign only the user to this test suite who should edit, view, ..... this document!

You can edit user rights below "Define User / Test Suite Rights".

I hope this will help you.

partially yes, you can create a test suite and put within some tests. So only people can see this test who has the access rights.
But is it not easier, if i understand you properly that you want to put a link to an external excel sheet to create a small webpage with a .htaccess file where your team get an account?
