Problem on installation - using XAMPP

Post by dscatto »

Hi,
I'm experiencing a problem during the installation. I've changed TestLink release, several base packages (Apache, Mysql,.) but I'm still in trouble.
It is probably due to some settings on installation/windows.
First of all I would like to make clear that I'm not a user of Apache,
Mysql, I've never dealt with these SW, so unfortunately I can't supply all the details.

Here I reported the packes and releases.
I installed the following components:
###### ApacheFriends XAMPP (basic package) version 1.6.3a ######

+ Apache 2.2.4
+ MySQL 5.0.45
+ PHP 5.2.3 + PHP 4.4.7 + PEAR
+ PHP-Switch win32 1.0 (please use the "php-switch.bat")
+ XAMPP Control Version 2.5 from www.nat32.com
+ XAMPP Security 1.0
+ SQLite 2.8.15
+ OpenSSL 0.9.8e
+ phpMyAdmin 2.10.3
+ ADOdb 4.95
+ Webalizer 2.01-10

Problem:
Once I press the button "Setup TestLink!" (at the end of parameters: Db name, logins, passwords,..) I get a window of authentication:
Connect to localhost (DAV-upload). Here I don't know which is the authentication required, I've tried everything..but it doesn't work.
After the autothentication fail I get the Server Error page "Error 500".
Is there anyone available for a support?
Many thanks
Best

try to install XAMPP without any kind of security.
this is not a TL problem.
please try to install another software (example mantis) to see if
problem persists

Thanks for replying.
I've seen the same behaviour using Mantis. Installation fails at the same way.

two possibilities:
1. download InstantMantis and install there TL
2. remove your XAMMP install, and redoit using a low security level

Hi, sorry for the delay.

The software pack is composed by:
The PHP, The Apache Software, MySQL, PhpMyAdmin & SQLiteManager.
This should be enough
