Failure to create requirement specification

Post by jlh »

This is my first post on this forum, so hello.

I didn't see this issue in the 1.7.2 release notes. We are running 1.7.1 and have had no trouble entering requirement specs in the past. Now, when an attempt is made to enter a requirement spec, the attempt fails with the following error messages:

Failed to update database! - details: SRS a

Error: Error while creating requirement specification

1142 - INSERT command denied to user 'testlink_user'@'localhost' for table 'req_specs' - INSERT INTO req_specs (testproject_id, title, scope, type, total_req, author_id, creation_ts) VALUES (62,'a','

a
','n','0',5, '2007-12-28 12:07:25')

Any ideas on a fix? Will 1.7.2 fix this problem? TIA

Upgrade to 1.7.2 does not resolve issue

Post by jlh »

We still cannot create requirements specs after upgrading to 1.7.2. We encounter the same error messages that were identified in the original post. Our system administrators can provide log files if those will be of any help. Can anyone provide advice? Thanks.

It's the Permissions, stupid!

I'm enjoying the conversation with myself. This issue was resolved today when we discovered that the sysadmin had inadvertently turned off write and update permissions for testlink users. These permissions were granted and the problem was solved.
